Frosty the Snowman (1969): Christmas

Frosty the Snowman.jpg

Yet another Christmas TV special based on a classic holiday song. This one is definitely of a lesser caliber than Rudolph, it seems very dated now, but it’s still a fun watch, if not to laugh about the poor quality. This follows a snowman who comes to life thanks to a magical hat and gets into a bunch of shenanigans. Of course, like Rudolph, the special adds in some plot devices that don’t exist in the song. There’s an evil magician who is trying to take the hat from Frosty and then the fact that Frosty is melting and so he goes to live with Santa. It’s very silly but you know, if it’s one your family watches every year, it’s kind of a requirement for the holiday season. And we’re not even going to talk about the sequel.
