Sharknado 2 (2014): Shark Week

Sharknado 2

So I mean, if you’ve seen the first one you know what to expect out of this one. This one isn’t summery, at all really. But it does have sharks and it a great prep for shark week, which takes place in the summer. So in this one, April and Finn are celebrities since April wrote a book about surviving a Sharknado. Amazingly another shark storm hits and chaos ensues. April loses a hand and Finn is rushing around to try to save everyone. This movie is still campy and stupid and enjoyable. I honestly think I like this one more than the original? I’m not sure why, maybe the acting from the side characters is slightly better? But yeah, if you liked the first one, you’ll like this one. If you like campy horror you’ll like it. It’ll definitely prep you for shark week.

Sharknado (2013): Shark Week/Summer

Shark Week 2017 is roughly a week away so I figured why not review a bunch of shark movies to break up the summer reviews! So, as most people know, Sharknado is the B-movie that sent people into a frenzy. I don’t know if people were unaware of all the B level animal horror movies Syfy had been putting out, but for some reason this movie made people lose their minds. Perhaps it’s because this is the first one where Syfy was really like, fuck it, steer into the skid and make a hilarious shark movie. I honestly prefer a lot of B shark movies to this movie, but it’s still fun. The premise is basically what the title says, tornadoes lift sharks out of the sea and flood them onto the land where they proceed to eat people. The CGI is AWFUL, the acting is bad even for a Syfy movie, but it’s such a silly premise that you have to enjoy it. This one will definitely get you ready for Shark Week, and summer.
